How to write an astrology chart
An astrology chart (also called a horoscope) is a diagrammatic representation of the positions of the planets, sun and moon at the time of a person’s birth. In the chart, the planets occupy the various zodiac signs and this is interpreted by astrologers. Although it is slightly complicated, one can make an astrology chart on their own too. When discussing how to write an astrology chart, it helps to have a list of materials required: Blank paper, compass, ruler, pencil, person’s birth information (date, time and place), an ephemeris (which is a table of the positions of the celestial bodies at particular times and places), zodiac sign symbols, and a reliable source for interpretation purposes. In how to write an astrology chart, the first step is to construct the basic diagram - using a compass, drawing 3 concentric circles, with the innermost one much smaller than the outer two. The outer circles are then divided into 12 equal sections for the 12 zodiac signs and labelled using the appropriate symbols (glyphs). The labelling is done counter-clockwise and you can start anywhere as it is a circle. Next, each of the 12 sections are further divided into 30 equal sections, making a total of 360 sections, representative of the 360 degrees in the circle. These are marked on the second circle. If marking 30 is tough, every other degree can be marked, but there should be accuracy as the angles between the points are crucial to the interpretation. In how to write an astrology chart, an important part is getting the person’s ascendant sign - the sign that was rising over the east horizon at the time of birth. This can be obtained through an ephemeris (or even computer programs). Thus, for an accurate chart it helps to know the longitude and latitude of the birth place and the exact date and time. This ascendant sign has to be marked onto the chart based on the location given, e.g. 15 degrees Virgo. For marking the sign, in the corresponding section (Virgo), move counter-clockwise from the beginning edge of the section and count 15 degrees. Next you get the positions of the sun, moon and planets and put them on the chart in the form of symbols and degrees. In the space between the innermost circle and the second circle, draw the houses which are imaginary sections representing aspects of life (children, money etc). Then calculate the aspects which is the angle formed by a pair of celestial bodies. You now know how to write an astrology chart. All that remains is to refer to a book for the interpretations of your chart.
