Astrology numerology
Astrology is the study and interpretation of the movements and positions of the sun, moon, stars and other planets as they relate to human experiences and events. While the basics of astrology may be considered to be the same, there are various types of astrology that are used by different people. One such sub-type is numerology. In astrology, numerology is the field that makes use of numbers as a key to unlocking the mysteries of the universe and of the individual in question. In astrology-numerology it is believed that individual numbers have their own energies and vibrations, the combination of which in a person’s name and birth date etc will help in gaining insight into a person’s life. Of all the types of astrology, numerology is perhaps the easiest to understand at least at the layperson’s level. In astrology, numerology is also liked by many as all you need for a reading is a person’s name and birth date. In all versions of astrology, charts are constructed for better interpretation and as a type of astrology numerology too makes use of a chart. To do so one makes use of eleven core numbers. These numbers are: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,11 and 22. Eleven and twenty-two are thought of as ‘master numbers’. In astrology-numerology, the numbers assigned to letters in a name or in the birth date are added together, and larger numbers are further reduced by adding the digits in them till the core numbers are achieved. As a rule in astrology-numerology, all numbers are reduced to a core number. However the exception to this are the master numbers eleven and twenty two. Eleven and twenty two are considered to be concentrated versions of the numbers two and four respectively and thus the qualities associated with them are accordingly intensified. The presence of these numbers generally represents an increased ability to learn and gain success especially in stressful environments. Like all astrology, numerology considers first the birth date of the individual. This date is expressed as mm/dd/yyyy and is used to calculate the ‘Lifepath number’ and several other factors important in numerology. Along with the date of birth, the full name (as on the birth certificate) is converted to numbers and thus a core number. For this, the letters of the alphabet are assigned numbers from 1 to 26. Numbers with double digits are further reduced to a core number by adding the digits. For interpretation purposes in astrology-numerology the root numbers are used as each of them are associated with positive and negative traits. For example, 1 is associated with independence, leadership, courage, along with aggression, impulsiveness etc while number 7 is connected with scientific and inventive thinking, being a perfectionist and also being reserved and inflexible. For numbers 11 and 22, the traits for 2 and 4 are intensified.
